About UsMy Other Mother Child Care Center began providing services in Rogers in September of 1992. We opened the S.A.F.E. Center (school-age programs) in January of 1996 and we purchased an existing child care center in Fayetteville in March of 1998.
My Other Mother Child Care Centers are duly licensed by the Department of Human Services and the state of Arkansas. The centers are open to periodic visits by the local DHS Licensing Specialist; thereby insuring that all state child care regulations are being followed. Since opening in 1992, My Other Mother Child Care Centers have been locally owned and operated. Our Leadership![]() Ms. Tedra Spaw is the director and co-founder of My Other Mother Pre-schools. She has over 40 years of experience in child care, first running a daycare in her home for over 25 years and then opening My Other Mother in 1992.
Ms. Tedra is affectionately considered a second mom by all who have been in her care. She still can't believe that the children she once cared for are now bringing in their own children. Ms. Tedra is passionate about making learning fun. She firmly believes that a child's day should be a balance of play, work and rest. Our StaffingMy Other Mother Child Care Centers strive to hire motivated staff members who share our child care philosophies. The staff is responsible for adapting the primary developmental program to meet the needs of each age group.
Staff training and development is an ongoing process. Each staff member receives 2 to 3 hours of training per month. This training time is focused on learning how to more effectively relate to and benefit not only the children under their care, but also the parents involved. Facilities
We are proud to have spacious indoor and outdoor facilities each of our three locations. Our children have plenty of room to run and play, while our open concept layouts also offer safety and security. The buildings have been designed to be efficient, functional and flexible, and at the same time friendly and inviting. Each room is equipped with toys, books, puzzles and music that will teach, stimulate and challenge at each level of development.
The playgrounds have been designed to develop not only motor skills, but also the skills needed to successfully interact with others. (ie. Have fun with your friends playing ball or tag or “house” or marbles!) These skills provide a solid base upon which to build in the school years to follow.
